Happy Thanksgiving - Monika

A Thanksgiving Note from Me — Monika

This morning, before the house woke up and the real Thanksgiving chaos began, I slipped up into my attic sanctuary… just for a moment.

It’s funny—this little space used to be nothing but boxes, forgotten décor, and things I kept saying I’d “get to eventually.” Now it’s my quiet corner of the world. A place where I can breathe before the day starts tugging at me from every direction.

And today, as I wrapped myself in a blanket and held my first warm mug of tea, I felt something settle over me:

Gratitude.
The real, deep, quiet kind.

This year has been a lot.
Beautiful, messy, busy, exhausting… and somehow still amazing.

I’m grateful for my teenagers—even when they “borrow” things without asking or treat the bathroom like a community center.
I’m grateful for my job—even on the days I come home drained.
I’m grateful for this home—even with the never-ending projects.
I’m grateful for the moments no one sees—the small ones that remind me I’m stronger than I think.

Today will be full… of people, food, noise, and the usual Thanksgiving dance.
Someone will ask me where the serving platter is.
Someone will forget to bring the rolls.
Someone will turn the TV up way too loud.

And I’ll love it—chaos and all.

But I’m also giving myself permission to step away for a breath whenever I need it. To reset. To savor. To sit in gratitude instead of rushing through it.

If you’re a woman holding everything together—quietly, consistently—I hope you find your own little pocket of calm today too.

From my attic sanctuary to your home…
Happy Thanksgiving🍁
May your heart feel full and your day feel gentle.
